Departing from Maribor we drove with several destinations in mind.
Jan had read about some unique pastry that she very much wanted to try and this small village from whence it came. So off to Bakovci for a pastry. Gotta have a goal, right? She also read that we might see STORKS! We were excited about this notion but hadn't even really thought about it when we happened upon our first one!

Prekmurska gibanica (pastry with poppy seeds, walnuts, fruit, cheese and cream. in Bakovci:
Asked at this store where we parked to take pictures of the stork for the best place to have this pastry.
Local recommendation was a good one. We would never have realized this place way off the road in a field was just the place to have this local treat.
