2017 August - Budapest, Krakow & Prague - Day 1, Budapest

First stop, Budapest. After checking in to the hotel we met in the lobby and went for a bit of a walk. To the Parliament House. Here is our group, approaching it from the front.

This (above) is Andrea, the main tour guide, telling us stuff. Below, Liz and I with the assistant tour guide, Alessandro.

There were guards on the flagpole that marched to switch places occasionally.

There are many of these little protest piles near a Jewish monument. I'm not sure exactly what it's about, but something that the monument has wrong.

First (of many) dinners together.

Along the way we visited this water park.

Then finally settled into the small lobby for some drinking and relaxing. We would end up spending late each evening in this same mode.

Tired and jet-lagged.

2017 Consolidating three blogs

Consolidating information about big trips, little trips, overseas trips and RV driving trips. Bringing in two retired blogs, and starting HERE with 2017.

Sometimes the details are for my own purposes, something I want to be able to remember, or lookup. Apologies to anyone who stumbles here and finds these facts boring. But maybe you, too, seek a really good gas-station or an exceptional hamburger. You may find these things here, sprinkled among profoundly moving visits to heritage sites all over the world.

2017 February - Melanie came to stay for a time.

Melanie came to stay in February and one of our adventures was to go to that Heart Attack Cafe in downtown/Fremont Street Experience.  It was goofy.
